Find Resources

Articles

There are two main ways to find and access articles:

  1. Use Library Search to search multiple databases at the same time, then limit the results to articles or newspaper articles.
  2. Select a subject-specific database from our Databases list and perform a search within it.

Books

To find books use Library Search and limit the results to "Available in the Library" and "Books".

If you are not able to find a specific title, consider looking in other library catalogues outside of Seneca. You may submit a request for an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) or borrow directly from another Ontario college.

Course Resources

Course resources include textbooks, articles, videos, and other resources that your professor has chosen for your course.

In the Library Search for course resources in Library Search with your course code (e.g. COM101)
In the Bookstore Online Textbooks Browse (browse by student ID, course, or program)
Seneca Bookstore homepage (search by title, author, or ISBN)

Note: If you do not know your textbook's title, check the Seneca Bookstore or your course outline. Course outlines can found on Seneca's website:

  • Full-time: To find course outlines, select your area of study, followed by your program. Then navigate to the 'Courses' tab on your program's page. Click on the course code you are interested in to find its course outline.
  • Part-time

eBooks

There are two ways to find and access eBooks:

  1. Use Library Search to search multiple databases at the same time, then limit the results to "Books" and "Full Text Online."
  2. Select one of our ebook databases and perform a search within it

Videos

To find videos, use Library Search and limit the results to "Audiovisual.".

  • If you only want DVDs, limit the results to "Available in the Library".
  • If you want streaming videos, limit the results to "Full Text Online" instead.
