Writing and Communicating Technical Information: Process Analysis

"Process analysis identifies, describes, and explains the sequence of events in a repeatable process" (Lannon & Gurak, 2015, p. 270).

"Process description are appropriate when the reader needs to be informed about the action but does not need to perform it. If you suspect a reader may in fact be a user -- i.e., someone who uses your document to perform the process -- always write instructions" (Pfeiffer & Boogerd, 2007, p. 168).
