OverDrive at Seneca Libraries ending on April 1st

Seneca Libraries has made the decision to end its relationship with OverDrive, one of our e-book and audiobook suppliers, when our licence with them expires on March 31st, 2014. Access to our OverDrive site and to the 1335 titles on it will end April 1, 2014.

Though well-received by the Seneca community when we first started with it 4 years ago, overall OverDrive usage was not high enough to justify continued expenditure and maintenance on it. Contributing to this low usage was the fact that Senecans have access to OverDrive through Toronto Public Library and other public library systems in the Greater Toronto Area. If you live in Toronto, please explore the access you have through the TPL OverDrive site at http://toronto.lib.overdrive.com. Library patrons living in other communities should check with their local public library for possible access.

If you have any questions about this decision, please contact Dan Michniewicz, Digital Resources Librarian, at daniel.michniewicz@senecacollege.ca.
