Library Cards and Borrower Types
Seneca's full-time students, faculty, and full-time or part-time support staff must have a Seneca OneCard or Library Card in order to borrow materials. Part-time students can obtain a Library Card at the Library Borrower Services Desk by presenting their fees receipt. Current sessional and part-time faculty bring a class schedule or contract to the Library Borrower Services Desk in order to obtain a Library Card.
Full-time students/faculty/support staff
Full-time students/faculty/support staff must have a Seneca OneCard to borrow materials.Part-time students/faculty/support staff
Part-time students can obtain a Library Card at the Library Borrower Services desk by presenting their fees/registration receipt as well as a piece of photo ID.Part-time faculty/support staff
Part-time faculty/support staff can obtain a Library Card at the Library Borrower Services desk by presenting their class schedule or employment contract.Alumni
Seneca graduates must have their Alumni Card and one piece of ID to obtain a Library Card.Community Borrower
Others who wish to use the Seneca Libraries must pay a $35.00 non-refundable Community Borrower fee. Two pieces of ID (i.e. Driver's licence, credit card) must be shown to the Circulation staff in order to obtain a Library Card. The card is valid for one year.Direct Borrower (Policy)
A student or employee from another college may register as a "Direct Borrower".To register as a Direct Borrower, the prospective borrower must have a current identification card issued by the home college and another piece of photo ID with address, e.g. Driver's License, Health Card.
Part-time students/employees may not have been issued an ID by the home college. A document such as their registration receipts or employment contracts as well as another piece of photo ID with address can be used to register a part-time student/employee. The document must have a start and end date.
Change of Address
It is the responsibility of the Library patron to notify the Library immediately of any changes of address. Mail returned to the Library due to failure of a Library patron to provide timely and adequate mailing addresses may result in additional fines.Lost or Stolen Cards
If a Library Card is lost or stolen, the Library patron must notify the Library immediately. The patron to whom the card is issued will be held responsible for any material checked out with that card before the loss is reported.
