Recalled Items
Recalled items refer to library materials that are placed on hold for
other patrons, not returned on the due date and therefore requested
to be returned by the library. For recalled items not returned as requested, a fine of $2.00/day to a maximum of $50.00/item or the cost of the item, whichever is less, will be charged.
Replacement of Lost Items
The borrower must pay the cost of the item plus a $6.00 processing fee
to replace lost items.
Withholding Transcripts
Students who have outstanding fines or overdue books may have their
transcripts withheld.
Method of Payment
Fines can be paid with cash, debit card, credit card, or Seneca OneCard. Debit/credit card payment is available only at Newnham.
Fines for Overdue Pre-Booked Video/DVDs
In order to accommodate the needs of the Seneca College community, it is important for pre-booked videos, DVDs and other materials be returned on time. If items are not returned on time, any or all of the following may occur:
- Media staff will contact the borrower and may contact the course instructor
- borrowing privileges may be restricted or suspended
- fines of $3.00 per day, per item are charged for the late return of pre-booked videos/DVDs.
- replacement costs will be charged if videos/DVDs are lost or damaged
