Direct Borrowing Terms

Direct Borrowings are available to all students and employees from all Ontario colleges participating in the Direct Borrowing agreement.

Library Cards

To register as a Direct Borrower, the prospective borrower must have a current identification card issued by the home college and another piece of photo ID with address, e.g. Driver's License, Health Card.

Part-time students/employees may not have been issued an ID by the home college. A document such as their registration receipts or employment contracts as well as another piece of photo ID with address can be used to register a part-time student/employee. The document must have a start and end date.

A generic library card will be issued and the card will be expired on the date stated on the home college ID. If there is no expiry date on the home college ID, proof of registration/employment from the home college is required to verify the current status. This proof must have a start and end date.

Direct Borrowers may use the library materials in the library and may borrow materials from the general collections that have not been designated as high demand materials for courses.

Direct Borrowers may borrow to a maximum of five items from all Seneca Libraries. Direct Borrowers may not place a hold request.
