Feature Films at Seneca
Feature Film Reporting Form

The license covers non-theatrical screenings of videos or DVDs from most major studios represented in Canada and encompasses educational use at all Seneca campuses. Why is a feature film license necessary?
Canadian copyright legislation requires all videos and DVDs screened in the classroom to be licensed for public performance. Our institutional license allows for all educational uses of feature films at Seneca College. Videos and DVDs in the Seneca library collection are all licensed for public performance.
How will I get these videos/DVDs?
Seneca Library Collection:
All videos and DVDs can be found by searching our web
catalogue. Please use “feature films” as a search
term, and remember to select Video/DVD from the quick limits.
You may also download and print the Feature
Film Video/DVD list.
External Rentals and Loans:
Faculty and students may go the to the video store of their choice and
rent the video or DVD they wish to show in the classroom. This license
also allows for the screening of videos and DVDs borrowed from other
libraries, including public libraries, as well as from personal collections.
These videos must be legal copies; and so, may not be taped from television.
Will Audio-Visual staff arrange for video or DVD rentals?
Audio-Visual staff will be happy to book video/DVDs from the Seneca collection. Arrangements for renting from outside sources are the responsibility of the user.
Do I need to tell you which films I am showing?
